A Friend

You are the bird who delivers morning song.
Always there with a warm smile,
Times with you never seem long.
You bring serenity to my soul.

In times of despair,
I've often come to you.
You have an extra special way
Of showing me you care.

And the beauty of it all
Is that I know no matter
Near or far
Your love is real.

I see your smile miles away.
Just the sound of your voice
Warms my day.

The kindness you give
Is a special gift to me
That I cherish with my heart.

Thank you for the gift
Of love, friendship and family.
